In Ancient Rome, children used to wear small talismans around their necks, which could be made of various materials depending on their social class. These objects served to protect children from evil spirits. Boys wore the bulla, while girls wore the lunula. The latter, a crescent moon-shaped pendant, has always been associated with the female world.
